ADAPTIVE GYMNASTICS PROGRAM DIRECTOR:
Keren Ibarra
Keren Ibarra has dedicated much of her life to working with children and supporting their growth, development, and confidence. She began serving children at age 12 through her church's nursery program, working with children from birth through age four, as well as children's church for ages five through twelve. She continues to support both programs today.
Keren brings extensive experience in early childhood education and special services. From ages 18 to 37, with a three-year break, she worked in two preschool settings, supporting children from birth through age five, including both typically developing and neurodivergent children. She later served as a paraprofessional in special services education for the Elko County School District from ages 37 to 42.
Throughout her career, Keren has completed training in child development from birth through age eight, as well as PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) for infants, toddlers, and children. She has also collaborated with Elko County Special Services, speech therapists, physical occupational therapists, and Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS).
For the past five years, Keren has worked at Ascension Athletics, providing front desk support while gaining coaching experience in preschool gymnastics, beginners classes, Future Stars, Future Novas, and competitive team programs, including Developmental Level 3 and Xcel Silver. She currently coaches Future Novas, Developmental Level 3, and Xcel Silver, and is beginning a new chapter in adaptive and inclusive gymnastics.
Keren is passionate about helping children overcome barriers, discover their abilities, and build confidence through meaningful movement experiences. She is excited to continue creating engaging and inclusive opportunities that make gymnastics accessible to all children.
